Depression

I have often described my own battle with depression as a black cloud that covers my view of the world. Everything could be just the way I want it to be, but I am unable to see the good in my life because I am viewing the world through a black cloud. That perspective then feeds negative thoughts, and before I know it, I'm caught up in a whirlwind of sadness, irritability, difficulty concentrating, and frequently interrupted sleep.

Through my own therapeutic journey and the use of evidence-based treatment modalities in my practice, I have learned and taught coping strategies that have actually helped my clients and me move forward with life when the depressive cloud descends.
